Lutes has served as Virginia president for Bon Secours Mercy Health since 2025 and has acted as Bon Secours’ Richmond market president since October 2022. During his tenure, Lutes has modernized care delivery, expanded access to services, deepened community partnerships, and led a resilient workforce of approximately 14,000 associates to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care across Virginia. He has overseen more than $550 million in hospital expansion projects, strengthened organizational performance, and fostered high-performing cultures among physicians and associates.
Under Lutes’ leadership, Bon Secours continues to live its mission of extending the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of its communities and bringing good help to those in need, especially people who are poor, dying and underserved. Bon Secours is also committed to addressing health factors beyond hospital walls, including social drivers of health, while maintaining excellence in patient care. His vision, operational discipline and commitment to community impact define him as a standout C-suite executive.
The Virginia C-Suite Awards honor executives whose primary work office is in Virginia and who hold top corporate executive positions, including CEO, COO, CFO, or equivalent roles. Winners will be recognized at a celebration on June 4 at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, which will include networking and a luncheon.
