For the third year in a row, Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) is pleased to announce that Sandra Mackey, chief marketing officer, has been named to the Becker’s Hospital Review’s annual list of “Hospital and Health System CMOs to Know.” This list recognizes strategic leaders who drive brand growth, elevate the patient experience and advance organizational performance through innovative marketing and communications.
As chief marketing officer, Mackey leads marketing, communications, consumer engagement, brand strategy and creative initiatives to support health care delivery across the Bon Secours Mercy Health ministry. With a passion for storytelling and strategic engagement, she works to strengthen connections between patients, providers and communities.
Since joining the ministry in 2017, Mackey has played a key role in advancing innovative marketing strategies that improve access and care coordination. Under her leadership, BSMH has launched a conversational AI tool designed to guide consumers to the appropriate orthopedic care settings, helping to reduce barriers while enhancing patient engagement. She has also championed digital transformation efforts that elevate brand visibility and enable more personalized, data-driven results across the markets.
Through these initiatives, Mackey demonstrates her commitment to aligning strategy with compassion, authenticity and service. Her work consistently reflects a belief in the power of technology and meaningful storytelling to improve patient experience and expand access to high-quality, compassionate care.
In addition to this accomplishment, Mackey was a 2025 recipient of the prestigious John A. Eudes Vision & Excellence Award, presented by Greystone.Net and named Cincinnati Business Courier’s 2018 Chief Marketing Officer of the Year. She also serves as Board chair for FC Cincinnati Foundation and is a Board member of Catholic Charities USA, Brado and Mercy Neighborhood Ministries and a Member of Women Business Leaders (WBL).
