Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) Chief Financial Officer Deborah (Debbie) Bloomfield, PhD, has been named one of the 2023 hospital and health system CFOs to know by Becker’s Hospital Review.
“Chief financial officers are key players in strategic financial planning, growth and partnerships for their organizations…and are crucial to the overall success of their respective organizations,” Becker’s said in its announcement.
The prestigious list recognizes 126 financial leaders responsible for the financial viability of their hospitals and health systems.
Bloomfield has more than 30 years of experience in health care finance and is accountable for the ministry’s financial operations, including treasury and investment, supply chain, real estate and development and managed care.
Previously, she served as the CFO for Mercy Health, the largest health care provider in Ohio, as well as the ministry’s southern division CFO. Prior to joining the ministry, Bloomfield was employed by Ernst and Young, LLP, where she specialized in health care and finance services sectors. In 2013, she was named Chief Financial Officer of the Year by the Cincinnati Business Courier.
