Chief Strategy Officer David Cannady has earned a prestigious spot on the “Health System Chief Strategy Officers to Know” list, curated by Becker’s Hospital Review.
The 2023 list includes the top 65 health system chief strategy officers. The recognition comes as a testament to Cannady’s leadership in crafting and implementing strategic plans that drive Bon Secours Mercy Health’s (BSMH) growth and success.

Their responsibilities extend to expanding access to care through partnerships, acquisitions and the integration of innovative technologies. Cannady leads the ministry’s marketing, innovation and strategic planning teams. His wealth of experience and expertise has been honed over the years through his work with Richmond Memorial Hospital (now known as Memorial Regional Medical Center), Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and Hospital Corporation of America (HCA).
A North Carolina native, Cannady holds a bachelor’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina and a master’s degree in health administration from Duke University. He actively contributes to the community by serving on the board of Cintrifuse, a Cincinnati-based organization developed to support and nurture tech startups and founders.
