Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) announces that Edmund Siy, Chief Information and Technology Officer, has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s annual list of “Hospital and Health System CIOs to Know,” which recognizes forward-thinking IT leaders who are creating meaningful changes for both patients and providers.
Siy joined BSMH in 2025 and has since led the overall information technology strategy and operations across the ministry, including oversight of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence deployment, and clinical informatics. He is passionate about keeping patients at the center of every initiative, including developing technology that empowers the organization to better understand and serve its patients.
“I’m honored to be included on Becker’s ‘CIOs to Know’ list,” said Siy. “This recognition shows the dedication of our entire technology team and our shared commitment to advancing our mission to extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus. As a global ministry, we serve diverse populations across the world, and technology is essential to our operations. We remain focused on implementing technologies that enhance the ministry from every angle, supporting clinicians, improving patient experience and strengthening how we deliver high-quality, compassionate care.”
Each year, Becker’s compiles its list based on nominations submitted across the country, highlighting CIOs who demonstrate their dedication to advancing health care through technology. Becker’s describes the leaders chosen for this list as drivers of innovation – particularly those implementing initiatives such as EHR enhancements, AI integration, strengthened cybersecurity frameworks and more. Late last year, BSMH was also recognized by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) with a Level 10 achievement in both the acute and ambulatory categories of the Digital Health Most Wired Survey – the highest level of recognition offered. This prestigious designation reflects the ministry’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and recognizes the team’s efforts to embed innovation, AI, automation and advanced analytics into clinical care, operations and patient engagement. The distinction further highlights the leadership of Edmund Siy and the technology team in driving a digitally enabled, patient-centered care experience across all communities served by the ministry.
