Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) is pleased to announce that Jason Szczuka, chief digital officer, has been named to Becker’s “Hospital and Health System Chief Digital Officers to Know” list for the third year in a row. This recognition honors digital leaders who are advancing innovation, strengthening care delivery and improving organizational performance through scalable, technology-focused strategies.
As the first chief digital officer for BSMH and the president of its digital investing arm, Accrete Health Partners, Szczuka leads the ministry’s focus on identifying and executing strategic technological opportunities that enhance patient care, expand access and improve operational efficiency. He is credited with establishing and leading the organization’s digital transformation agenda, defining how digital capabilities are identified, implemented, and sustained across diverse markets and care settings.
Under his leadership, Accrete Health Partners has grown its portfolio since its inception in 2022 with their most recent announcement marking their 11th investment. Their portfolio includes multiple new investments, a successful exit of a legacy investment and the launch of six new digital initiatives across the health system.
Since joining the ministry in 2021, he has helped Bon Secours Mercy Health earned the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives’ “Digital Health Most Wired Level 10” designation in 2025 – the highest recognition available. Szczuka’s work reflects a commitment to leveraging technology with purpose, ensuring digital innovation is aligned with the ministry’s goal of delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
