BSMH Leader Recognized for Operational Excellence

Bon Secours Mercy Health Chief Operating Officer Don Kline was recently named one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2024 “Hospital and Health System COOs to Know.”

According to Becker’s, “Chief operating officers (COO) lead the charge in streamlining operations across hospitals and health systems, driven by a passion for improving patient outcomes and delivering measurable results. This list honors COOs for their accomplishments and devotion to shaping health care operations.”

In his role at BSMH, Kline is focused on operational leadership across all of the organization’s US markets, working to ensure effective and efficient operations that result in high-quality, compassionate care for patients and communities.

He has more than 30 years of hospital experience, having worked in management, finance and operations leadership. Kline joined BSMH in 2007 and served as president of Mercy Health – Youngstown as well as a group president providing leadership for markets across Ohio, South Carolina and New York – among a variety of other roles.

Kline holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
