Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) announced the release of its Community Health Annual Report, highlighting the strides made in addressing health and social needs across the organization’s markets.
Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Community Health initiatives are grounded in data gleaned from each market’s Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), Community Health Implementation Plan (CHIP) and Community Health Strategic Plan, and are focused on addressing key social determinants of health that affect well-being and health. Through focused assessments, input from local residents and stakeholders and prioritization of community health needs, BSMH teams are able to direct resources toward outreach, prevention, education and well-being opportunities that can make the greatest health impact in the communities it serves.
Bon Secours Mercy Health uses strong collaborations with local health care providers, non-profit organizations, state and local government agencies and other stakeholders to extend its reach and make a more significant impact. In 2023, BSMH partnered with more than 379 community partners in offering 81 community programs to serve individuals and families.
“This report is not just a compilation of numbers and statistics; it is a demonstration of the steadfast commitment of our Community Health team improve health and well-being through programming that prioritizes our Mission,” said Kendra Smith, vice president Community Health. “Each success story, every positive change, reflects our dedication to addressing those factors that can impact the health of our neighbors such as food and nutrition insecurity, access to health care, affordable housing and social cohesion.”
