Dan Hurry, president of Advantus Health Partners and chief supply chain officer of Bon Secours Mercy Health, was recognized at the GHX Summit 2023 for winning the Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) Supply Chain Leadership Award for transforming the business of health care and supply chain through the innovative use of technology and collaboration.

Hurry is responsible for the strategic vision, growth and operational management of Advantus, an innovative health care solutions company that delivers more effective, efficient supply chain models to health care organizations.
Throughout his career in health care, Hurry has worked to optimize and standardize supply chain operations. He has been a voice campaigning for more attention from hospital leadership. He understands the impact a supply chain department can have not only to the bottom line, but to the patient.
As a supply chain leader, he has invested in cutting edge digitization, amplified sourcing and contracting engagements with strategic suppliers, drove over $100M in savings during the merger of two large health systems, ensured no patient or provider at his health system went without PPE during the COVID-19 pandemic, aligned a new Enterprise Resource Planning technology across a 42-hospital system, curated a clinical transformation model that is led by a board-certified surgeon, invested in supply chain talent development through graduate programs, built health care focused supply chain curriculum with public universities, and among other achievements, launched Advantus Health Partners in 2021.

I have a strong team of experts and leaders who are right there with me making sure we continue to bring clinical and financial value to our clients.” In addition to Hurry receiving the Supply Chain Leadership Award at the GHX Summit, Jimmy Chung, M.D., chief medical officer of Advantus spoke about optimizing physician leadership in supply chain and John Horne, chief strategic sourcing officer at Advantus participated in a roundtable session about health care supply chain operations thought leadership.
