Bon Secours Mercy Health announced the release of its 2022 Community Health Annual Report, spotlighting more than 100 programs, health care services, grants and community building activities across the organization’s 10 markets that collectively resulted in more than $600 million in community benefit over the last year (over 12 months).
Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Community Health initiatives are grounded in data gleaned from each market’s Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), Community Health Implementation Plan and Community Health Strategic Plan, and are focused on addressing key social determinants of health that affect well-being and health. Through strong community partnerships with more than 70 organizations, more than $44 million in asset-based community investments and focus on data and outcomes, Bon Secours Mercy Health is working to improve extend the healing ministry of Jesus in the communities, neighborhoods and vulnerable populations it serves.
“This report addresses the key strategies and in-market activities and collaborations developed to address the social determinants of health that impact access to care in the communities we serve,” said Jean Haynes, Bon Secours Mercy Health’s chief population health officer. “We truly believe that community health programs are not ‘must-haves’ or requirements; rather, they emerge from our intentional commitment to engaging communities and our conscious response to community need.”
