What do I need to do if I want to receive text messages related to my care?
  • Text START to 84809
    • This enrolls the mobile number to receive text messages from our short code.

What do I need to do if I no longer want to receive text messages related to my care?
  • Text STOP to 84809
    • This action disable/opt-out the mobile number. This will opt-on any patient with this mobile number in their demographics.
    • Note: Patients can modify how they receive notifications in MyChart’s Communication Preferences this is recommended versus opting completely out.

How do I update the types of messages I want to receive related to my care?
  • Log in to MyChart
    • In the MyChart menu > select Communication Preferences

  • In the Communication Preferences Activity you can review contact information, control settings for email, text, push notification (toggle the option on/off), and control notification settings for specific communications.

  • Click Advanced settings to see even more options about the types of Appointment notifications and update preferences as needed.
    • Note: Not all notifications are available as a text message. Some preferences may only be configured for Email or Push Notifications.
What if I have additional questions about the communications I receive related to my care?
  • You can speak to a representative at our Help Desk by calling the number associated with you health care provider located on the Contact Us list.

Terms and Conditions

When you sign up for text messages from Bon Secours, Mercy Health, and partners, you are signing up to receive text messages related to your relationship with Bon Secours, Mercy Health, Roper St. Francis Healthcare, Covenant Health, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Toledo, Urology of Virginia and partners, including updates related to your visits, MyChart account, one-time passcode, billing notifications, prescription reminders, and care management.

You can opt-out of SMS messages by texting STOP to 84809. Your opt-out request will generate one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. Once you opt-out you will no longer receive SMS messages. If you want to join again, sign up using MyChart or text HELP to 84809 for instructions.
