Steve Hahn serves as chief legal officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health, where he provides strategic leadership for the ministry’s legal operations, governance, risk, internal audit and advocacy functions. As a trusted advisor to the ministry’s executive leadership team, he helps advance the ministry’s strategic priorities while supporting its commitment to provide compassionate high-quality care and to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
Since joining Bon Secours Mercy Health in 2017, Steve has held increasingly senior leadership roles, beginning as general counsel for the Toledo market before being named deputy general counsel in 2022. In that role, he partnered closely with senior leaders on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, pharmacy and 340B Program regulatory compliance, risk management and other complex operational matters that supported the ministry’s continued growth and transformation.
Known for his collaborative leadership style and practical approach to problem-solving, Steve has played an important role in supporting enterprise initiatives involving governance, reimbursement, operations and international and domestic acquisition opportunities. Throughout his career, he has focused on building strong relationships, fostering alignment and helping teams navigate change while remaining grounded in the ministry’s values and purpose.
Before joining Bon Secours Mercy Health, Steve was a partner at Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, P.C., where he advised health care organizations on complex transactions and strategic growth initiatives. Earlier in his legal career, he practiced in the areas of real estate development and corporate law with law firm of Seibel & Falkner.
