Sandra Mackey serves as the chief marketing officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health, where she leads marketing, communications, consumer engagement, brand strategy and creative initiatives to support health care delivery across the ministry. With a passion for storytelling and strategic engagement, she works to strengthen connections between patients, providers and communities.
Since joining Bon Secours Mercy Health in 2017, Sandra has been instrumental in launching innovative initiatives. One of these initiatives is a conversational AI tool designed to guide consumers to appropriate care settings, improving patient access and experience. She has also been key in advancing digital marketing efforts to enhance patient engagement and brand visibility.
Sandra’s leadership is deeply rooted in her personal values. She was drawn to Bon Secours Mercy Health because it allows her to bring together two of her greatest passions — her spirituality and lifelong love of God, and her dedication to engaging people through authentic connections. Every time she steps into a facility, she witnesses firsthand the warmth and compassion with which providers care for patients.
Recognized for her leadership in health care marketing, in 2024, Becker’s Hospital Review named Sandra one of the “60 Hospital and Health System Chief Marketing Officers to Know.” Her work has earned industry-wide recognition, including being named Cincinnati Business Courier’s 2018 Chief Marketing Officer of the Year. She regularly shares her expertise at national conferences, such as the Healthcare Internet Conference, where she discusses the strategic role of content in health care.
Sandra believes in the power of technology and storytelling to transform patient experiences, making health care more accessible and engaging. As Bon Secours Mercy Health looks toward the future, she remains focused on creating meaningful, consumer-centered experiences that improve access and strengthen patient relationships.
