Matt Caldwell is president of Bon Secours — Greenville, where he works to fulfill the Bon Secours Mercy Health Mission throughout the region by improving care quality and access for the poor, dying and underserved.   

Matt was named president in 2019 after serving two and a half years as president of the Mercy Health — Springfield market. Since arriving in Greenville, his collaborative leadership style and commitment to operational excellence have advanced market growth.  

Throughout his tenure, Matt has made excellent patient care his priority. He is uniquely qualified to understand the role of caregivers in a successful health care environment, having started his career as a nurse. He has experience in critical care, orthopedic post-operative care and case management.   

Prior to his time at Bon Secours Mercy Health, Matt spent four years as CEO of Tennova Healthcare in Tennessee. He also previously served as CEO of Dallas Regional Medical Center in Texas and gained health care leadership experience at other Texas hospitals in varied roles, including chief operating officer, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care support.
