Biography

Katherine A. Arbuckle has served as a member of the Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) Board of Directors since its formation in September 2018. Prior to her service on the BSMH Board, Ms. Arbuckle served as a member of the Mercy Health Board  
of Directors.  

Ms. Arbuckle has more than 30 years of experience in health care financial management and has spent more than 15 years in Catholic health care, participating in numerous Catholic formation programs. She retired as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for Ascension Health in 2015. Prior to assuming the CFO role at Ascension Health in April 2012, Ms. Arbuckle was the executive vice president/ CFO for Bon Secours Health System from December 2006 to April 2012.  

She previously served as vice president, Finance, at Ascension Health. Before that, Ms. Arbuckle served at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Care Center in Indianapolis where she was assistant vice president, Finance/Assistant CFO and with Clarian Health Partners, Inc., as vice president, Finance. 

In her early career, she spent 15 years in public accounting focused on the health  
care industry. 

Ms. Arbuckle graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University. She received her CPA certification in 1983 and carries a Fellow designation within the Healthcare Financial Management Association.  
She has served on many health care, community and industry professional organization boards.
