Jason Szczuka, Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) chief digital officer, has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the top 35 chief digital officers of health systems to know for 2022.
The 2022 list recognized this prestigious group of leaders for their use of technology to boost patient experience, improve access to care and accelerate innovation within the health system. Ultimately, chief digital officers are helping to transform health care in ways never before seen.
Jason joined the ministry in 2021 and is focused on leading the ministry’s focus on strategic technological opportunities. He is driving a patient-first strategy that advances the promise of digital health by extending quality care into a more convenient, connected and consistent experience.
Prior to joining Bon Secours Mercy Health, Jason served as chief digital officer with Cigna, where he led a digital team that supported the transformation of the organization from a traditional health plan administrator to a global health services company. Jason co-founded Brighter in 2010, which was later acquired by Cigna, where he developed products that supported patient, provider and/or payer interactions, enhancing health care engagement and transactions.
Jason earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of California. He holds bachelor’s degrees in business administration and political science from Southern Methodist University.
