Bon Secours Mercy Health Joins Turquoise Health Verified Program, Showcasing Excellence in Price Transparency

Turquoise Health, a health care tech platform focused on simplifying health care reimbursement through pricing transparency, announced that Bon Secours Mercy Health is the largest health system to join the Turquoise Verified Program. Turquoise Verified is a no-cost program that highlights pioneering providers who are going beyond the Hospital Price Transparency Final Rule. Providers who become verified will receive a checkmark within their Turquoise Health profile, allowing patients and consumers to quickly navigate compliant locations in their areas for health care services.

“Bon Secours Mercy Health is committed to providing our patients with clear, accurate cost information and price estimates to help ensure transparency at every step of the health care experience,” said Billie Jean Mounts, chief revenue officer of Bon Secours Mercy Health. “We are proud to join the Turquoise Verified Program to make it even easier to identify high-quality, affordable care.”

Bon Secours Mercy Health offers patients a variety of tools to help inform about costs prior to service. The organization’s innovative Price Estimation Tool, available on both the Bon Secours and Mercy Health sites, looks at hospital services, materials, supplies, ancillary services and health insurance information to provide out-of-pocket cost estimates for hundreds of the most common procedures.

“We’re glad to see hospital systems like Bon Secours Mercy Health prioritizing price transparency. Large health systems have an outsized impact on nationwide adoption of these mandates and overall increased clarity on the cost of care,” said Joe Wisniewski, head of platform growth at Turquoise Health.

The Turquoise Verified platform works to solve the problem of curating more than a trillion records of never-before-seen provider rates. Turquoise Health simplifies the transaction process of health care so that patients can understand the total cost upfront, while also working with providers and payers to transform the market.
