Health System Achieves Prestigious Level 10 Recognition for Excellence in Digital Health Innovation

Nov. 18, 2025 – Cincinnati, OH – Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH), one of the nation’s largest nonprofit Catholic health systems, has been honored by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) with a Level 10 achievement in both the acute and ambulatory categories of the Digital Health Most Wired Survey for the 2024 data collection period. This marks the first time BSMH has received the highest level of recognition in this internationally acclaimed benchmarking program, which celebrates excellence in digitally enabled health care.

“In today’s rapidly changing health care environment, technology is essential to how we live our Mission and serve our patients,” said Edmund Siy, chief information & technology officer, Bon Secours Mercy Health. “Earning a Level 10 distinction underscores our ministry’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. Most importantly, it celebrates the dedication of our clinicians, providers and associates who use digital tools every day to deliver safer, smarter and more compassionate care.”

CHIME’s Digital Health Most Wired Survey serves as a comprehensive evaluation and digital maturity report card for health care organizations across the globe. To receive Level 10 recognition, organizations must undergo a rigorous validation assessment that highlights strategic investments across multiple transformation pillars to deliver a person-centric digital health ecosystem. Level 10 organizations have strategically embedded AI, automation, and advanced analytics across all domains, ensuring that clinical, operational, financial and workforce strategies are fully aligned with enterprise-wide digital capabilities. These organizations achieve top-tier outcomes in safety, access, equity and sustainability, and exemplify digital-first, data-driven systems shaping the future of health care delivery.

Among nearly 48,000 facilities represented, BSMH distinguished itself by ranking above peers in critical categories such as analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. The survey evaluates the adoption, integration, and impact of technologies across healthcare organizations, from early-stage adopters to industry leaders.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare, a South Carolina-based hospital system and joint venture partnership between Bon Secours Mercy Health and the Medical Society of South Carolina, also earned a Level 9 distinction in the long-term/post-acute care, acute and ambulatory categories for the 2024 data collection period, further demonstrating a high level of digital maturity and underscoring the ministry’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation.
