Donna Abbondandolo serves as the chief compliance officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health, overseeing the ministry’s global compliance program, which includes corporate social responsibility, privacy, data protection ethics, and risk mitigation. With a career spanning health care compliance, hospital operations, revenue cycle management and education, she has played a key role in shaping regulatory best practices across large health care networks.
Since joining Bon Secours Mercy Health in 2018, Donna has led strategic compliance efforts, first as chief revenue cycle compliance officer before stepping into her current role. Prior to working with the ministry, she held leadership positions in compliance for several large health care networks in New York. She also served as the Health Information Program Director and adjunct faculty member at Long Island University.
Beyond her leadership in compliance, Donna is a champion for mission-driven service. During a visit to the West Baltimore community, she was deeply moved by the power of presence — sharing moments of joy, connection and dignity with senior living residents. Her experiences reinforce her beliefs that embracing the sacredness of human connection and the grace-filled act of being present can improve the health and well-being of our communities. She sees this commitment reflected in the ministry’s Community Works teams, whose efforts bring the Bon Secours Mercy Health mission to life.
