Travis Crum serves as the chief financial officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health, overseeing the ministry’s financial operations, including treasury and investment, real estate and development and managed care. With more than a decade of leadership within the organization, he plays a key role in ensuring financial sustainability while supporting the ministry’s Mission to provide high-quality, accessible health care.
Now in his 14th year with the ministry, Travis has held several financial leadership roles, including assistant controller and corporate controller for Mercy Health, before advancing to senior vice president of finance for Bon Secours Mercy Health. His expertise in financial strategy, operational efficiency and long-term fiscal planning has helped guide the system’s continued growth and stability.
Beyond his work at Bon Secours Mercy Health, Travis serves on the Policy & Procedures Board for the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). In this role, he helps establish national best practices and financial reporting standards for health care organizations across the U.S.
His experience also includes time as a controller at a long-term care center and as part of KPMG’s audit practice, where he specialized in health care financial operations.
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Travis witnessed the incredible dedication of Bon Secours Mercy Health caregivers. Despite the emotional and physical toll, they showed unwavering compassion, holding the hands of patients who were alone and praying with families over video calls. Seeing the profound care and dignity offered to patients, especially those most vulnerable, reinforced the heart of the ministry’s mission—bringing good help to those in need, even in the most difficult circumstances.
