Our History

We are proud to be a ministry with a rich history of compassion and Catholic heritage.

Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Mission and Values come to us from the compassionate ministries established more than 150 years ago by congregations of women religious.

Their dedication to excellence and service drives us to continually enhance the way that health care is delivered, promoting new levels of health care safety, quality and cost effectiveness. Our physicians, nurses, caregivers and associates embrace the calling entrusted to them, providing compassionate healing and service as modeled by our foundresses.

Our founding sisters and sponsors include the Sisters of Bon Secours, Sisters of Mercy and the Sisters of the Humility of Mary.

It is our commitment to continuing their legacies that fuels our passion to be of service to all who need our care and help, especially the poor, underserved and dying.

Led by a team of health care professionals, Conduit Health Partners offers customized, cost-effective and timesaving solutions including transfer center services, 24-7 nurse triage, virtual care, employer / HR Solutions, and health care call center scheduling.
2019
Bon Secours Ireland Joins Bon Secours Mercy Health
Ensemble Health Partners Transitions
Bon Secours Mercy Health transitions 51% of its equity in Ensemble Health Partners to a private equity firm
2020
Southeastern Virginia Expansion
We welcomed Bon Secours – Southampton Medical Center, Bon Secours – Southern Virginia Medical Center and Bon Secours – Southside Medical Center to Bon Secours Mercy Health.
Joint Venture Restructure
Bon Secours Mercy Health and The Medical Society of South Carolina restructure their Roper St. Francis Healthcare joint venture, with BSMH as slight majority owner.
